MEET EGOROD

Illustrator. Visual storyteller.

I’m Ego—an illustrator who’s spent the past few years creating book covers, comics, editorials, and portraits for clients like HarperCollins and DC Comics. My work is rooted in clarity, light, and emotional presence—not about copying reality, but distilling it. I love helping people simplify what they see, focus on what matters, and use light and color to bring their drawings to life.

My style blends stylization with storytelling. You might’ve seen it in Chroma or Lux—my two art books exploring bold palettes and quiet narratives. Or maybe this is your first time here—either way, welcome. Whether you’re drawing portraits or capturing your own stories, I’m here to share tools, ideas, and inspiration to help you grow.

BRANDS I WORKED WITH:

What You’ll Learn

See Form Clearly and Draw with Structure

We’ll start with the basics—materials, references, and how to simplify what you see. You’ll learn how to break down the face using planes and build confident, stylized structures that still feel real. These are the fundamentals that help your drawings feel intentional and strong.

Light as Storytelling: Line and Color

Light is everything in my process. You’ll explore how light works, how to build believable value structures, and how to create clarity using linework and inking. We’ll also dive into expressive color choices—watching me work, then trying it yourself. It’s about making your art feel vivid and alive.

Grow Your Style and Draw with Emotion

This course isn’t about copying—it’s about discovering your voice. We’ll talk creative routines, personal influences, and how to evolve your style with practice. You’ll also get bonus lessons with practical tips for drawing expressive features like eyes, hair, and more—always with simplicity and impact in mind.
